Hello. I hope you’ve had a great first week of April. What’s your favorite April Fool’s prank?
This past week has been filled with debugging, more debugging, researching, a bit more debugging, and WRESTLEMANIA! I started the Java 2 class in school and learned about internal and external file storage with Android, shared preferences, and SQLite. I learned a bit about how to give engaging speeches in People School and I applied to several jobs and created a ZipRecruiter account.
Some of the things I’ve learned this week are:
- Shared preferences (in Android) are stored as key/value pairs
- When buying a house, obtaining an Agreement of Sale from the owner means you don’t have to pay a down payment
- Bitmaps are not Serializable (in Android)
- Androidx.preference needs to be implemented in the Gradle file otherwise Android Studio can’t find the subclasses
I ended my week watching the first-ever two-day long WrestleMania! I’m thrilled with most of the outcomes. It was an amazing pay-per-view with the second-day matches taking the cake, with the exception of the Undertaker’s match on day one.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great week!
Sincerely,
Mulan Lau
