Hello. I hope you’ve had a great week.
This week was full of learning, and pro-wrestling for me. Both were enjoyable, the latter a bit more so. If you haven’t seen NXT Takeover 30 or Summer Slam yet, go watch them. They were amazing! Definitely lived up to the hype. I was a bit disappointed with how good Pat McAfee was though…
Anyway, this past week was the Proof of Concept week for my final project app, Tennis Match. I spent a lot of time editing the project plan and creating the app prototype. I also began the setup for the app itself in both Android Studio and Xcode.
Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:
- Android’s ViewPager2 is a nifty element for mimicking the slideshow effect
- Android’s Bottom Navigation Bar does not display in my preview window for the .xml file for some reason
- Editing functional flowcharts is comparably annoying and time-consuming to creating functional flowcharts
- Loading lag time is a common theme among mobile apps (based on several play-tested apps and Goodreads)
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great week.
Sincerely,
Mulan Lau
