Hello. I hope you’ve had a great week!
This week I continued to spend hours reading Java documentation and then putting my knowledge to use creating simple Android apps that utilized simple features like list views, adapters, and spinners. I completed my second week of a fascinating Leadership and Organizational Behavior class, connected with a couple of really interesting people, and worked on my world, the World of Frosting. I also celebrated an amazing Valentine’s Day with my dance family at Dance Appeal Studio where we danced the night away. What did you do for Valentine’s Day?
Some things I learned this week are:
- One thing that sets leaders apart from their team members is that leaders are forward-looking (Check out this awesome book on leadership)
- It helps to start world-building either at the beginning (of time), with a food source, or both
- Apart from the main/UI thread, Android apps have two main types of threads: background and worker threads
- Adam Cole vs. Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship, now that is a main event!
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great week.
Sincerely,
Mulan Lau
