Hello. I hope you’ve had a great first week of November. It’s been refreshing to take the week as a sort of vacation as I continue my job search without needing to spend time on school. I’ve spent this past week relaxing after the very busy last week of October. I’ve also been working quite a bit on NaNoWriMo. I’m using 4thewords to help me keep track of my writing. The gamification of writing is also a really great help in keeping me motivated. If you’re a writer, regardless of whether you’re doing NaNoWriMo or not, I suggest checking it out. It’s a truly great resource.
Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:
- Past a couple hundred words, I feel each word like I’d imagine a marathoner feels each step
- Two thousand words feel like two million when it’s late at night and you’re trying to get that word count for the day and have it tie into your story
- Commenting relevant questions on LinkedIn posts can be a great way to learn new things
- Sleepytime tea is the best drink for late-night writing sessions
Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great week! Also, if you’re a pro wrestling fan, have you seen AEW’s latest pay-per-view, Full Gear? I haven’t but wow do I want to. I’m hoping AEW releases it on their YouTube channel soon.
Sincerely,
Mulan Lau
