Hello. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! This past week has been a wonderful mix of busyness and relaxation. I wrote a short article answering a coding question in Kotlin, Java, and C#, continued my journey in journaling, applied for a ton of jobs, and spent this past Sunday in the sun at the beach with my sister. I’ve also learned that it’s important to have an essential intent, something that is both inspirational and practical. I’m still working on mine, but I have begun reassessing my possessions from an essentialist’s point of view. What is your essential intent?

Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:

  • You can figure out your essential intent by asking yourself “if I could only be great at one thing what will it be?” and “how will I know I’ve achieved it?” (I’ve learned this from the awesome Essentialism book by Greg McKeown)
  • Blacksmithing is amazing and Forged in Fire is one of my favorite shows next to WWE and AEW
  • It’s important to remember that there is always a “behind the scenes” and that is what shapes the things you see

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a wonderful week and don’t forget to take some time to relax in the sun!

Sincerely,

Mulan Lau

P.S. Here’s a from memory sketch of part of the island during a road trip to brighten your week.
