Time is flying this year! March seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye. March was a pretty uneventful month for me. My gut bacteria are still recovering from the double food poisoning in February and I’ve had lower energy after work. On the bright side, I’ve been getting lots of puppy cuddles and I’ve gained a new level of appreciation for my good gut bacteria. I’ve also learned from first hand experience how much of an impact good gut bacteria has on your health, energy, and focus as a whole. Which is pretty crazy.
A few new things for me this past month: I got a Roomba and I finished reading Magnetic Marketing by Dan Kennedy. My mom got a Roomba a while ago and she’s been telling me how much she likes it whenever we’re on the phone and how little she has to vacuum now. So, after vacuuming twice a week (after having vacuumed the week before too) I decided to get one. So far, it’s been great! I don’t have to vacuum every week and it picks up all the dog hair around the house.
As far as my reading goes, I haven’t been quite as consistent this month. Sometimes, I’ll skip a day of morning reading. Hopefully, the book I’m currently reading, Atomic Habits, will help me fix that and build some other good habits as well. Magnetic Marketing was an awesome read and definitely a book I’ll be going back to. It’s a super helpful and insightful guide into direct marketing and if you have a business of any kind, I would definitely recommend checking it out.
What are you currently reading?
Let’s shift a little. It’s amazing how much we can grow without realizing it. We recently had our mid-year reviews at work, and I didn’t even realize how much I’ve learned in the past 6 months until I read some of the feedback I got. It’s crazy how time seems to pass without us noticing even though we continue to grow. It’s great to look back on what you were working on 6 months to a year ago and realize, wow I learned all that and I did all that. Also, let this be a reminder to embrace feedback. Feedback is amazing! I’m working on polishing my communication style at work to be more effective and getting feedback from my coworkers and manager has been priceless. If there’s something you’re trying to improve, ask for feedback. We often don’t realize what we don’t realize until someone else points it out. Don’t be scared, good feedback can help you get ahead much faster than trying to figure it all out on your own.
What’s one thing you’re trying to improve that could benefit from feedback?
As we get into April, let’s remember to appreciate our health and our journey so far. We’re growing, even if we don’t realize it.
I hope you have an amazing month!
