All the social media platforms make it easier than ever to compare ourselves to others. It’s easy to get discouraged feeling like we’re behind or not measuring up. But it’s super important to remember that we each have our own journey that has its own unique timeline. Let’s stop holding ourselves down by comparing ourselves to others and focus on making the most of where we are and what we have.
When we compare ourselves to others, it’s kind of like trying to drive our car straight while staring at the car in the lane next to us. Probably not going to end great and definitely not the best way to keep our car driving straight. When we focus on our journey, we have our eyes on our goal and are more likely to stick to the path leading to it.
Instead of feeling behind when we see others who have accomplished things we’re still dreaming about, we should feel inspired. It’s not a race or a competition. Seeing others living our dreams is proof that it’s possible and should encourage us to work harder and keep going rather than getting us down. Let’s be bold and use others’ success as motivation. We can even reach out and ask them for advice! Some won’t respond but others might. And any piece of advice helps.
If you feel like you’re falling behind or not moving fast enough or starting too late, let this be a reminder that you are right on time. Some of the most successful people in the world started or shifted goals later in life. We all have our own timeline that’s unique to us. Stop tying yourself to the timelines of others and focus on making the best with what you’ve got.
The best time to start anything is now. Let’s move towards our goals with focus and dedication. We are getting things done at the right time and at the right speed for us. When other people succeed it’s not a discouragement, it’s an inspiration. We can do that too! Our journey is unique and awesome. As long as we keep pushing forward, we will achieve our goal at the right time for us and it will be amazing!
What goal are you striving towards?
