Hullo. I hope you’ve had a great week and Easter. It’s been several weeks since we were all told we should stay at home and I desperately miss Friday dancing. Other than that, this past week has gone quite well, and my sister celebrated her birthday over the weekend.

This past week I’ve continued to learn about working with data in Android and have begun learning about content providers and incorporating device functions such as the camera app into my own apps. I’ve continued applying for developer and project management jobs, practicing drawing, started a new Unity course, and continued my journey through People School.

Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:

  • (Android) you access local images via MediaStore
  • Images and other media files specific to an app should be saved to protected external storage
  • GridView uses a list adapter and can use a fragment but not a list fragment
  • You need to set the type of intent if a result is expected

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Stay healthy and try sitting outside the house soaking in the sun if you get tired of sitting inside the house soaking in the sounds of everyone else in the house.

Sincerely,

Mulan Lau
