Hello. I hope you’ve had a great week. This past week has been full of learning, frustration, and a bit of fun. This past week I’ve updated my portfolio to include the READ app I created last month, created a google maps app for Android, created a media player app for Android that continues to play music through a notification when the app is closed, drove around the island with my sister, fixed bugs, found bugs, and fixed more bugs, and watched NXT TakeOver In Your House. Overall, it was a very productive week during which I managed to become extremely frustrated with some complex errors and some really minor errors, which were possibly even more infuriating. However, the week ended on a great note watching NXT TakeOver with some dark chocolate acai. The matches were great!

Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:

  • Collapse-O-Matic is a great WordPress plugin for adding collapsible sections of text (assuming you don’t want to code this yourself)
  • J’espère means I hope in French
  • Java’s ContentValues (often used with queries to a SQLite database) does not denote string values when inserting or querying in SQL (tip: you need to indicate strings with a single quote)
  • 99Circles seems like a great alternative to Patreon

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great week.

Sincerely,

Mulan Lau
