Hello. I hope you’ve had a great week. Mine was full of, you guessed it, debugging and more debugging. I learned how to create regular and collection app widgets for Android, created a basic weather app widget, created a simple image viewing collection widget, drove around the island, debugged, and yelled my heart out watching BackLash. The last item is by far my favorite and if you haven’t watched this past Sunday’s WWE pay-per-view you should watch it now.

Some of the things I’ve learned this past week are:

  • Android App Widgets run independently from an activity (so handle data accordingly)
  • The Dark Sky weather API is no longer accepting sign-ups (The Open Weather Map API is a great substitute)
  • You can’t access the Adapter View Flipper’s autostart method from a remote views object
  • Uno (the online version) is cheaper on Ubisoft than on Steam and you’d have to play through Ubisoft either way

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a great.

Sincerely,

Mulan Lau
