Hello! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week! March seems to be flying by!

This past week has been pretty amazing. I had several meetings that all went very well, got my receipts for taxes, danced a ton, saw the new Batman movie, and got lots of puppy cuddles. The highlight of my week was going Latin dancing with my friend on Saturday night. I got to dance a lot and I feel like I’m improving a bunch. If you haven’t tried social dancing, I highly recommend it!

I’ve been doing a bunch of technical interviews lately during my job search and one thing I’ve learned is that the more you do the easier each one becomes. Practice makes perfect. One of the biggest pieces of advice I’ve received while interviewing has been to get comfortable with explaining your thought process to solving a problem before you even begin coding. It took a little bit of focus to remember to verbalize my thought process at first, but the more I did it the more natural it became. A lot of technical interviewers are more interested in how you solve a problem than the code itself so getting familiar with clearly verbalizing your thought process as you come up with a solution can make a huge difference in your next interview.

On a side note, if you work as a freelancer, contractor, or independent businessman in any capacity, keeping a copy of your receipts and categorizing them as you go will make compiling your receipts and totals for tax write-offs at the end of the year much easier. Something I learned this past week.

My biggest takeaway for the week is that eating at least one good meal a day is very important. I’m learning to appreciate proper meals more and more. I’ve been trying meal kit services. This week I tried EveryPlate which was pretty good. I loved the satisfaction of cooking something yummy and filling and having proper meals definitely makes me feel better. This coming week I’ll be trying HelloFresh. Do you use any meal kit services?

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope you have a wonderful week!

Sincerely,

Mulan
